While I was out shooting these photos, a guy walked by and took notice of what I was doing. He stopped, put his hands in his coat pockets, and took a long, studying look at this weird bicycle propped up before him. Without turning towards me he said, “I'm not into e-bikes, but that’s pretty cool.” Then he walked away.
I think I’ll take that as a compliment.
Yah, it’s an e-bike. But it was love at first e-ride. While building this 26”/20” fillet-brazed cycletruck, I wasn't sure how I'd finish it. I was planning on some simple powdercoat and whatever parts I had lying around. After riding it, though, I couldn't help myself. It needed nice parts and paint. I’m still waiting on a couple bits--it’ll eventually receive a custom frame bag and I’m having a plywood deck cut to fit inside the basket. Even without those items, this is by far the best errand bike I’ve owned. It's going to rack up some serious hill-climbing, grocery-getting miles.
